2024: A Year of Travel

2024 was another year filled with unforgettable moments ranging from solo trips to group trips! Here’s a quick look at all the wonderful places I was able to escape to in the midst of all the busyness this year.

January

  • Amicalola Falls State Park & Dahlonega: I started the year with nature. In addition to the beautiful views of the Amicalola Falls, I made the 850 step (425 steps up and back), which was NOT easy! I then traveled to Dahlonega and stayed at the Limelight Inn which was very peaceful (my only critique is that it isn’t as secluded as I thought as it is right off a busy road so you’ll hear lots of cars passing by). I booked my stay through Expedia, and you can do the same by clicking here to view more photos of the breathtaking property.

February

  • Las Vegas: I went to celebrate one of my best friend’s birthday. The trip was filled with go-karts, bar hopping, the MJ show, a little gambling, incredible food, great company, and lots of laughs. We stayed on the strip at the Flamingo. Click here to view pictures of the property!
  • Blue Ridge, GA: I went on a group trip with friends where we ventured to Mercier Orchards and went bar hopping in this charming mountain town.

March

  • Panama City Beach: I went as a solo getaway where I explored a boutique bookstore (Bookish Boutique), enjoyed wine at Duplin Winery, and went on a bike tour. I had amazing views at the the Hampton Inn & Suites Panama City Beachfront hotel. I booked using Expedia (click the link here to check it out)!
  • ChĆ¢teau Ɖlan: Another solo trip to this luxurious winery and resort for some much-needed relaxation. Yes, I even ordered room service the morning I was to check out. There are even bike rentals that you can use to ride around the property – just make sure you’re in good shape due to the hills. I also booked my stay using Expedia (click the link here to check it out)!

The Busiest Travel Month: April

  • Nashville: I traveled with my niece (it was her first plane ride) and sister to visit family friends. We did some shopping and explored Broadway before all the craziness on that street happened (if you’ve been, you know what I mean).
  • Las Vegas (again!): I returned to see Mariah Carey live with my best friend. It was our second time seeing her (1st time was in NYC for her Christmas show). My best friend and I tried something different and stayed at the Golden Nugget on Fremont Street. Our hotel reservation was made through Expedia (click the link here)!
  • Chicago: Literally 4 days after returning home from Vegas, I was back at the airport to fly out to Chicago. I traveled there for one of my best friend’s birthday. We ate A LOT and had so much as always! We stayed downtown at the Palmer House downtown. Check it out on Expedia here!

May

  • City Mill Hotel (Local Staycation): For my actual birthday, I took had a refreshing staycation at City Mills Hotel with a river view. It was so relaxing. I booked through Expedia (click here to see more pictures)!
  • Gatlinburg, TN: I have a friend whose birthday is a few days before mine, so we decided to celebrate together with a group our friends with a trip to a stunning Airbnb nestled in the mountains. We did a wine tasting tour, went to Dixie Stampede, and lots of great food!

June

  • Myrtle Beach, SC: A beach getaway with my sister and niece, filled with sun and family time. On the way back home, we passed by a beautiful sunflower field.

July

  • New Bern, NC & the Coast: One of my best friends introduced me to New Bern and the nearby beaches. I’ve lived in NC for a few years now and it was so neat discovering these new/nearby beaches!
  • Atlanta, GA: I saw Janet Jackson (my 4th time seeing her) at the State Farm Arena with one of my best friends—it such an iconic performance as always! Atlanta owes us nothing!
  • Chattanooga, TN: After Atlanta, I traveled straight to Chattanooga for solo trip to explore this charming city. My 24 hours was filled with a boat tour, great food, great views, and a unique hotel experience (I’ll blog about that in another post)!

August

  • Callaway Gardens: I attended the magical annual hot air balloon festival. It was my first time visiting Callaway Gardens, and it was so nice! My goal for 2025 is to stay at the resort on the property.

September

  • New York City: My best friend and I saw Nicki Minaj live at MSG!
  • Columbus Symphony: It was my first-ever symphony experience in Columbus—the show was breathtaking!

October

  • CancĆŗn, Mexico: Our yearly friend trip took place in Cancun. It was so much fun and always great to be with one another in such a peaceful environment. I absolutely love our yearly trips, and blogged about our 2022 trip to San Juan, PR. You can read that post here.
  • Pumpkin Festival at Callaway Gardens: I got into the fall spirit at this festive event where the hot air balloon festival took place. It was even better going with friends!

November

  • Fort Mountain State Park & Lynchburg, TN: After a group hike, I took a solo trip to the Lynchburg where I experienced so much peace and serenity! I’ll blog about this trip in another post!

December

  • Postcard Cabins: I ended the year with a peaceful solo retreat surrounded by nature. The company was previously named Getaway Cabins, and I blogged about my first experience back in 2021. Click here to see that post.

Cheers to more adventures in 2025!!!
