Growing up in the southeastern part of NC meant SEVERAL trips to Myrtle Beach, especially during the summer. The city holds a special place in my heart because it’s where my mother, sister, and I would frequent. Over the years, Myrtle Beach has grown tremendously, attracting more tourists due to its perfect mix of entertainment, shopping, food, and, of course, the beach! Whether you’re visiting for a weekend getaway or an extended stay, there’s no shortage of things to do. Here’s a list of the top 8 must-do activities to make the most of your trip to Myrtle Beach!

Duplin Winery is a must-visit if you love wine and are open to drinking muscadine wine! While the original location is in Rose Hill, NC, this location offers wine tastings, a relaxing patio, a bar where you can try your favorite wine, and live music. I have several wine glasses from the wine tastings. Unfortunately, they stopped selling souvenir wine-tasting glasses once the pandemic hit. My favorite wine is Orange Blossom.
Pro Tip: If you order a drink from the bar, ask for a God Bless America 😉
2. Eat at a Calabash Seafood Restaurant 🦀

You can’t go to the beach and NOT have seafood (unless you’re allergic to it)! Myrtle Beach has tons of great seafood restaurants throughout the city. A few that I recommend include Captain George’s, Captain Benjamin’s, and Seafood World. I personally love crab legs and sometimes overindulge when going to these places, but it’s well worth it!
3. Explore Broadway at the Beach 🎡

There’s so much to do on Broadway at the Beach. In addition to several shopping options, there are a few attractions, including WonderWorks and Ripley’s Aquarium. If you’re feeling adventurous, you could book a ride on the beach rider jet boat that speeds around Broadway. There are also a few nightlife spots, including Bar Louie, Fat Tuesday, and Wet Willie’s.
4. Go Shopping 🛍️

If you’re in the mood for retail therapy, Tanger Outlets (there are 2 locations) and Coastal Grand Mall offer a mix of brand-name stores and great deals. Whether you’re hunting for designer finds or beach souvenirs, you’ll have plenty of options.
5. Take in the Views from the SkyWheel 🎡

Take a ride on the SkyWheel, a 187-foot-tall Ferris wheel that offers a breathtaking view of Myrtle Beach, especially at sunset. It’s a fun and relaxing way to enjoy the beauty of the Grand Strand.
6. Go on a Dolphin Tour or Sunset Cruise 🌅🐬
Take a dolphin or sunset cruise! Several local companies offer boat tours where you can spot dolphins, enjoy the fresh sea air, and take in stunning coastal views. This is perfect for a laid-back but memorable experience on the water!
7. Play Mini Golf or Hit Up TopGolf ⛳

Fun Fact: Myrtle Beach is known as the mini-golf capital of the world! The city has tons of fun-themed courses to choose from. If you prefer a more modern golfing experience, TopGolf is a great spot to grab food and drinks. After a few swings, I feel like a pro at golf (even though I always feel like I will swing my golf club over the ledge)!
8. Relax at the Beach 🏖️

This one is obvious, but visiting the beach is a must-do activity. Don’t expect crystal clear blue waters while. You’ll know the nickname of the beach if you’ve been to Myrtle Beach many times 😉 Find a great spot to lay back and enjoy the sun! Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the beach can become VERY crowded. I preferably prefer the North Myrtle Beach area. Parking is free from November through February. Be sure to have Park Mobile on your phone during other times of the year. There are always parking decks along Ocean Blvd if you have trouble finding spaces.

I recently wrote a post about suggested Spring Break destinations (the link is here), and Myrtle Beach could be a possible destination if you’re curious!
